Our resources include on site physicians and nurses linked to a network of over 2,000 healthcare specialists. These specialists provide state‐of‐the‐art information to help the client and his family understand the disease process, its manifestations, and the therapeutic choices available.

Our Specialists include experts in all the common, as well as, the uncommon medical specialties including heart disease, cancer, diabetes and metabolic diseases, joint diseases, pediatric and genetic medicine, nutrition, rehabilitation medicine, etc.

Our service is available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (pacific time) on Weekdays, to answer requests via all modalities of communication, by phone, via email or if needed in person.

Example 1:

A client just diagnosed with multiple myeloma was advised to have a bone marrow transplant.

He had heard that there were new chemotherapy agents that were available that provided a good response rate.

The patient spoke to a Navimed myeloma specialist who educated him on the disease and made him aware of Thalomid, Revlimid and Velcade.

The patient decided to begin therapy with Revlimid and is still in remission.

Example 2:

A client with a history of palpitations and heart failure was placed on high dose ACE inhibitors and an oral antiarrhythmic agent that was known to cause fibrosis of the lungs. Over time he developed an elevation in serum creatinine and progressive shortness of breath.

Navimed consulted a heart failure specialist who suggested that a synchronized ICD/Pacer would both treat the heart failure as well as the arrhythmia. The person had their dose of ACE inhibitor reduced and the oral agent, Amiodarone, was eliminated. This resulted in a decrease in the serum creatinine (a stabilization of kidney function) and an abatement of the shortness of breath. These recommendations quickly improved the client’s quality of life.

In sum, Navimed’s system is designed to help the client and his /her families understand the disease better, as well as, the treatment options available.

We don’t attempt to interfere with the management recommended by the persons primary and specialty care physicians, but do attempt to clarify what options are available and if needed advocate the best possible care available.
